POSTHORAX® PRO Support Vest
The POSTHORAX® PRO Support Vest is designed to provide external thoracic stabilisation following median sternotomy. It is intended for patients recovering from procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, aortic surgery and other open-heart procedures. The vest uses a non-flexible chest piece with a hyperextension stop and patented cushions positioned parallel to the sternum to provide light anterior-posterior compression to the healing bone.
Indication / Intended Use
External thoracic stabilisation following median sternotomy, including:
- CABG
- Valve replacement
- Aortic surgery
- Other open-heart procedures
The manufacturer recommends fitting the vest as soon as possible after surgery, ideally within the first 72 hours. The stated wearing period is day and night for approximately 6–8 weeks while the sternum heals.
Design & Mechanism
The vest features a non-flexible chest piece with a hyperextension stop. Patented cushions run parallel to the sternum and provide light anterior-posterior compression to support sternum stabilisation.

Care Instructions
- Wash and dry in a household machine at temperatures up to 60°C, preferably using a gentle cycle. The product is not suitable for hospital laundry.
