Dyna-X Glove

Dyna-X Glove is a dynamic extension glove designed to aid neurological and orthopaedic patients in achieving optimal finger and thumb extension through its patented fabric spring technology. It facilitates the positioning of fingers into extension, thereby preparing patients for functional activities. Embedded with air bladders, which serves as fabric springs, the glove allows the patients voluntarily flex their fingers to grasp object, while the air bladders assist with re-opening the hand to release the object. The air bladders are inflated through a manual inflation bulb. The air pressure is adjustable, which allows the customization of assistance based on the client’s conditions (muscle tone). Therefore, the device can serve as a dynamic hand orthosis or a resting hand splint by adjusting the resistance level of the air bladders.

Indications for Use

The use of Dyna-X Glove is indicated for patients with paresis or plegia of the hand after injuries to the central or peripheral nervous system (due to Neurological conditions including but not limited to stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, GuillainBarré syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, brachial plexus injury, and median nerve palsy). It can be also indicated during the post-operative period and postacute care of other several diseases (Complex regional pain syndrome, burns management,aponeuretomy for Dupuytren’s contracture, post hand surgery).

Contraindications

The Dyna-XTM Glove should not be used in the following conditions:

• Increased muscle tone/spasticity
• Severe contractures or joint deformities
• Fractures
• Arthritis
• Active and uncontrolled inflammations
• Severe edema
• Severe cognitive impairment or uncooperative behaviours
• Any local condition in which the glove would interfere, including gangrene, unprotected or untreated wounds, skin infections and lesions
• Against the direction, orientation or guidance of the patient’s physician/therapist
