The CARINATUM brace is designed for the treatment of pectus carinatum (pigeon chest) in combination with rehabilitation.

What is Pectus Carinatum?
Pectus carinatum is a deformity of the chest characterised by protrusion of the chest over the sternum. It may occur as an isolated abnormality or in association with other genetic disorders or syndromes.
According to the manufacturer, rehabilitation combined with the CARINATUM pigeon chest brace is used for the treatment of this condition.
How Does CARINATUM Work?
The frame is made of lightweight, high-quality 6061 T6 aluminium.
Special medical foam is positioned under the frame to provide comfort over bony prominences.
The brace should be applied during adolescence, before skeletal maturity, when the bones are still able to be shaped.
The CALIPER BUCKLE system provides anterior and posterior (AP) compression. Over time, this compression is intended to remodel the bones and cartilage towards their physiological position.
According to the manufacturer, systematic use of the brace corrects chest deformation and improves breathing and blood flow.
The CARINATUM brace is designed to be worn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout treatment.
Waterproof Design
The CARINATUM brace is covered with powder coating and galvanised.
The brace is waterproof and can be used while swimming or taking a shower.
Discreet Design
The construction of the CARINATUM brace allows it to be worn discreetly under clothing.

Important Information
