The Push CMC thumb brace has been designed and developed by Push Braces in conjunction with eminent hand therapists Judy Colditz and Nettie Koekebakker.
This brace is now well accepted by many medical professionals as the best brace on the market for people who suffer from osteoarthritis of the CMC joint of their thumb.
CMC-1 osteoarthritis is a common thumb disorder. It is a type of ‘wear and tear’ of the articular cartilage, affecting in particular people between 40 and 60 years of age.The Push CMC is a slim and compact product. The brace can be used in the water. Hygiene is important around the hand. Therefore the synthetic material is antibacterial and the brace can be washed in a washing machine at 40°.
The Push CMC was especially developed for application with the following indications:
• CMC-1 osteoarthritis
• Postoperatively after arthroplasty of the CMC-1 joint
• Instability of the CMC-1 joint

Generally wear the brace at night so my thumb doesn't move. Seems to be better in the morning. I do not wear it during the day. Works by keeping your thumb from moving so much.

This version if the brace is more comfortable as well as more durable. The velcro is thicker and the form fits my hand real well. They are very expensive but there's nothing no other braces I've seen that work better.

bought it for my wife who was suffering with pain in this joint of the thumb. She sorts letters and papers and there is no getting around it with her job. We got it and it was easy to shape to her thumb. She has used it for three days now and she doesn't complain about the pain anymore. Very satisfied.

I feel this brace does help my hand. I wear it almost every day. I wear it outside also. It can be wet but I'd rather take off when washing dishes or I sometimes put plastic glove over it.

Second one I have owned, wore out the first one. Love love love it. I have bone spur on the base of the thumb, no cartilage between the thumb joints so that thumb is very loose in the socket. Started knitting again because I got such great relief.
